Westpac vows to rectify IT glitch - Australian IT - 26 July 2011
WESTPAC Bank has vowed to rectify payment problems by the end of the day after customers were deprived of their salaries and welfare benefits due to an IT glitch.
The issue comes less than three months after a catastrophic IT meltdown crippled its banking network.
Westpac said it was progressively restoring the system after experiencing delays overnight in processing some payments to and from other banks.
It stressed that the problem did not impact online banking, ATMs, POS, and telephone and branch banking
