Why It’s Important
Apple’s closed environment has given it a (well-deserved) reputation for resisting hacking attempts and exploits. However, this does not guarantee that Apple’s operating system is completely secure. Organisations that have large fleets of iOS often have Jamf. For these organisations, the new threat protection service makes economic sense: the solution is well-integrated with the existing Jamf solutions and can reduce operational overhead.
In addition, organisations that are very security conscious (government, NGOs, healthcare, and national infrastructure, etc.), Apple’s iOS has been viewed as a security ‘better practice’. The addition of a Jamf threat protection solution on top of Jamf device management is likely to be seen as a de facto choice.
Who’s Impacted
- End-point security teams
- Mobile device procurement teams
- End-user support teams
What’s Next?
- If you are a Jamf customer or have a very large fleet of iOS devices, schedule time to review the Jamf Executive Threat Protection solution. In addition, review the extent to which this extra level of security is required by the organisations.
