About & Contact

The CIO Cyber and Risk Network was created by IBRS in 2017 and has convened regularly since inception.

IBRS is a boutique Australian ICT Advisory Company. We help our clients mitigate risk and validate their strategic decisions by providing independent and pragmatic advice while taking the time to understand their specific business issues. You can read more about IBRS on our main site.

CIO Cyber and Risk Network gatherings are facilitated by James Turner, an Emeritus Advisor of IBRS, and the founder of CISO Lens.

Nick Bowman

Founder & CEO, IBRS

Since IBRS was founded in 2003, security has always been one of the top issues for all our technology executive clients.

We created the CIO Cyber and Risk Network in 2017 because we could see the environment was changing, and our clients were keen to share better practices around security and risk management in a facilitated environment.

My goal is that through your participation in the CIO Cyber and Risk Network, you hear straight from your CIO peers on what they are dealing with and thinking about, and that this sharing supports you in your role.

If you're a CIO, you're juggling a thousand different issues, from: changing and emergent business requirements, to technologies at different stages in their lifecycle, to vendors of vastly different capabilities, to staff issues - to name a few.

On top of everything else is the issue of security which cuts through every issue on your plate.

My goal is that through your participation in the CIO Cyber and Risk Network, you develop further relationships with your CIO peers across organisations and industries, so that you can pick up the phone and have a real conversation with them.
